Wonderful Personal Chefs

As a group of eight (five adults and three children), we rented Casa de Las Palmas in Los Barriles for eight nights and had personal chef service for breakfast, lunch and dinner. We just did not want to spend time cooking and washing dishes!
Before we arrived, Mary Kulfeldt, owner of Casa de Las Palmas, sent us a list of meals and we selected what we wanted and also added some extra items for the children in our group. The chefs bought and unloaded the items for the meals the day before our arrival.
Miriam and the three assistants prepared three gourmet level meals for us daily. They were flexible and paid attention to our likes and preferences. With children this was particularly important. They varied times of meals to meet the needs of our schedule according to our activities. We were amazed at the variety and quality of the food. There were sauces and dips paired to the specific vegetables and meats. They even made margaritas for us when returned from a hard day of fun. They made fresh fruit smoothies and surprised us with wonderful desserts. Our chef and her team were cheerful and we will all miss them. Without reservation, I highly recommend Chef Miriam and her group. You will not be disappointed. Having the chefs cooking for us was one of the highlights of our Mexico family reunion.

I decided to plan a family union in Mexico. My family is quite active and includes three grandchildren. The adults wanted to fish, mountain bike, scuba dive, horseback ride, snorkel and drive All Terrain Vehicles (ATV’s). They wanted to be ocean front, with a large pool, and have a house big enough for eight people to move around comfortably. They wanted to have privacy for their bedrooms and yet have a large living and dining area. They also wanted personal chef service since no one wanted to cook and clean up. I found all of those things and more at Casa de Las Palmas.
The town of Los Barriles, one hour drive north of Cabo San Lucas airport, offered the setting that enabled us to partake of all the desired activities. Casa de Las Palmas, owned by Mary Kufeldt, was the ideal rental that met all our needs. The house was clean and ready for us upon our arrival. There were books, games, children toys, kayaks, paddle boards and pool toys. As part of the package, Mary provided a welcome dinner for our group. What a wonderful way to start after the flights to get to Mexico. She told us to contact her if we had any questions or needs.
From our initial interaction with Mary, we knew we were in the hands of a professional vacation planner who could make our desires happen with minimal effort on our part. She knows all the vendors who offer the best services. For example, ATV’s and a guide appeared at our door and lead us on an amazing journey. Mary directed us to an amazing snorkel area north of the house. Horseback riding was a two minute drive away. Mountain bikes were delivered to our door. The personal chefs provided gourmet level meals three times a day! They provided a huge list of possible meals and we chose our menus. Yummy desserts magically appeared for our grandchildren.
We spent seven action packed days at Casa de Las Palmas and had a wonderful, memorable family reunion. I would highly recommend this venue to anyone for a unique vacation. Mary is easy to work with and understood our needs. Even when we changed our mind, she quickly adjusted the schedule flawlessly. Time went by so quickly and too soon we had to leave……hoping to return someday!

Love this house! Stayed here multiple times. Come down with the guys, rent ATV’s or Razors and eat the best dang food! So many good places to chow down in Los Barriles and lots to do. Casa de La Palmas is right on the beach – it’s very private! There is an amazing pool in the back and plenty of room to hang out. We BBQ outside almost every night and eat lunch in town. We used to go to Cabo which is about an hour and a half away but we skipped that this time. Been there done that. But this house is worth returning to and Mary, the owner, is awesome!

What a beautiful home and setting for a family or group of friends. Our extended family of eight adults and four children stayed at Mary’s house in late November. It is a wonderful beachfront house with a great pool in the back. The main house had four bedrooms and four baths, great for the families with young children. Next to the pool is a casita with two more bedrooms and two baths. And if your group is really large, there is a luxurious bunk house that sleeps another large crew.
The beach was not secluded but very walkable and offered good swimming and while we were there, lots of fishing in the morning and wind surfing in the afternoon. There was a good bar and restaurant a short walk north on the beach, and many bars and restaurants in Los Barriles which is a 15 minute walk south down the beach or a 5 minute car ride
Mary was a wonderful host and very accommodating and helpful. She also owns one of the ATV rental shops and the ATVs are a must for at least part of the stay. We ventured up the mostly dry river to a great waterfall one day and north to Punta Pescadaro for a nice beach walk and lunch another.
On top of all this, Mary gave us the opportunity to hire her local chefs to cook at the home and we had three terrific dinners.
I can’t recommend this stay enough.

Our whole family…14 of us ranging from 7 to 76…gathered for a week at this remarkable property. The house, casita and happy dorm ( as we called it) were beautifully done and gave each of us our own space. Mary was a wonderful sidekick for me as I tried to keep the herd together…from transportation to groceries to reservations and all sorts of ideas of things to do in Los Barriles, which is a true hidden gem. From sun rise to past sunset we had a amazing week, full of fantastic memories. Highly recommended! YOLO!

Awesome Vacay

We had an awesome time, everything was just so relaxing, even though the fish didn’t cooperate completely. Three of the girls did catch nd release Marlin first two days of fishing, plus we caught a few dorado, tuna and cabrillo along the way. We as a group would say though your chefs were so awesome. The recipes they concocted with our groceries was absolutely amazing. And such nice people. Had them come for an extra day!!! The house and furnishings, simply awesome. Mary’s coordination of airport transportation, fishing, ATV and food was outstanding and was so much appreciated. We hope to return soon…

What a house! Our party of 12 stayed here for the second time and this house rocks! Mary is awesome and arranged transportation to and from the airport. She also had a good suggestion for us not to rent a car and instead we used quads the whole time. She was right – a car was not necessary and it was so fun on the quads and it saved us money in the long run. The house is right on the beach – a perfect location. Everything in the house is kept in tip top shape. Will definitely stay here again!

My family had our reunion here – all 25 of us. Mary (the owner) was so helpful arranging transportation for us, quad rentals, day trip suggestions – you name it! The house itself is a dream! It is right on the beach and the grounds are so beautiful! The beach is immaculate and not crowded at all – in fact this area is not touristy yet. I hope it never becomes that. Back to the house, the beds were very comfortable, everything was super clean, it’s virtually a chef’s kitchen, nice towels and the pool was fantastic. There are seating areas all around the property with comfortable couches and hammocks and lounge chairs. Everything was just beautiful. We had her chef come in and cook for us a couple of nights which was really nice after a long day of relaxing ha ha. I should mention that even though we had a large group we were all able to sit together in the dining areas. Everyone is still talking about our trip and we can’t wait to go back again. If you decided to come here – you will be very happy!
